Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) Consultancy Support

The Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme is a must have accreditation for firms that provide or intend to provide residential conveyancing services. It is a mutually recognised quality standard for residential conveyancing practices to adhere to.

CQS Membership also establishes a level of credibility for firms with stakeholders such as lenders and professional indemnity insurers as well as all other participants in a conveyancing chain. Membership of CQS is one of the key features of getting on to and remaining on the lender panels.

CQS is designed for practices that are authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority that offer residential conveyancing. Practices applying for accreditation must demonstrate compliance with the CQS protocol and Core Practice Management Standards with the aim of combating mortgage and property fraud together with other financial crimes pursued through property work. The scheme improves and recognises competence and service standards within legal practices by for example, establishing core training and process requirements.

CQS membership and compliance is vitally important for any residential conveyancing firm – we can make the application process of becoming a member of the Conveyancing Quality Scheme as smooth as possible.  The initial accreditation process is notoriously demanding but we can, through our experience, make the process as painless as possible.

Once accredited, we can also provide you with ongoing support in monitoring and maintaining the very detailed and specific requirements of the standard in practice. We can also provide very cost-effective management of the re-accreditation process, taking that particular item out of your annual to do list.
